After completing each of my interviews, I realized that each person that I interviewed had similar thoughts about what "media" truly is. The first person I interviewed, my mother, Teresa, said that to her, "media" means simply the news media, whether it be TV reporters or overall media. The next person I interviewed, Brandi, said that "media" means a way of communication to a large group of people. The third person I interviewed, my dad, John, said that "media was a method of showing information to vast groups of people. The last person I interviewed, Will, my brother, said that "media" means the news and the people that relay information to people through TV, newspapers, and magazines.
I then asked about how the media affect their lives and all of them said that the media influences them to pay attention to the news, and to change their styles and change their habits. Each gave a different method of the persuasion such as TV, cell phones, internet, newspapers.
Then I asked them how large of a role the media plays in their lives, each were very apparent to be in love with media, they all gave different methods that the media affects their lives, like the internet and the television, especially cell phones.
Finally, I asked if they had to choose one type of media to live without which it would be, and each answer varied. Teresa said the newspaper, because it is too brief in its reporting. Brandi said the TV, because there are many other methods to retrieve news that is on TV. John said cell phone, because he still is uncomfortable in using his and does not fully understand the functions. Finally, Will said magazines/newspapers because he does not like to read about news, he would much rather be told or shown
